Since its founding in 1878, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School has been committed to excellence in progressive education as it seeks to develop the intellectual, artistic, and moral potential of its students. ECFS serves a diverse community of 1,700 Pre-K to twelfth graders in four divisions: Ethical Culture, Fieldston Lower, Fieldston Middle, and Fieldston Upper. Ethical Culture is located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in a six-story, turn-of-the-century building; the other divisions share an 18-acre campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.

We challenge our students through an innovative, experiential academic program, preparing them to become lifelong passionate learners, critical thinkers, and ethical leaders. We strive to bring out the best in all our students so that they can bring out the best in those around them.
